Acrylic Signage

Acrylic Signage

Acrylic signs are made of an extremely versatile plastic sheet with a glossy finish, which is also known as Plexiglas®. … Highly durable and available in a variety of colors, acrylic is often used for illuminated, architectural, tradeshow and point-of-purchase signs.

Applicable Methods

3-Axis CNC Milling

3-axis machining is one of the most widely used techniques to make mechanical parts. It is a relatively simple process, using conventional machining tools like the milling machine, which allows material to be worked on 3 axes (X,Y and Z).

Conventional Milling

Conventional Milling

In the vertical mill the spindle axis is vertically oriented. Milling cutters are held in the spindle and rotate on its axis. The spindle can generally be extended (or the table can be raised/lowered, giving the same effect), allowing plunge cuts and drilling.

3-Axis Milling Machine

A turret mill has a stationary spindle and the table is moved both perpendicular and parallel to the spindle axis to accomplish cutting.

Conventional Turning

Conventional Turning

Turning is a machining process in which a cutting tool, typically a non-rotary tool bit, describes a helix tool path by moving more or less linearly while the work-piece rotates.

2-Axis Lathe Machine

The turret lathe is a form of metalworking lathe that is used for repetitive production of duplicate parts, which by the nature of their cutting process are usually interchangeable.

Custom Fasteners

Custom Fasteners

A fastener or fastening is a hardware device that mechanically joins or affixes two or more objects together. In general, fasteners are used to create non-permanent joints; that is, joints that can be removed or dismantled without damaging the joining components.

Mold Making

Mold Making

A mold is a hollowed-out block that is filled with a liquid or pliable material such as plastic, glass, metal, or ceramic raw material. The liquid hardens or sets inside the mold, adopting its shape.

Surface Finishing

Surface Finishing

Surface finishes can be applied after machining or to parts which are corroded or tarnished. This can change the appearance, surface roughness, hardness and chemical resistance of the produced parts.

Anodized

Increases wear-resistance and adds protection from corrosion. The material can also take on various colors.

Electro Polished

Provides a smooth and bright finish. Increases corrosion protection by removing surface imperfections.

Electroplated

A protective layer of a less reactive metal is added to the material. Depending on which metal is used in plating, the conductivity, adhesion, friction, thickness and resistance to tarnishing and corrosion of the material can be altered.

Powder Coated

Powder coated surfaces are more resistant to chipping, scratching, fading, and wearing than other finishes. Colors stay bright and vibrant longer.

Sand Blasted

Gets all dirt and contaminants off of the surface so the coatings will adhere better if applied. The film left after the sandblasting prevents the rust that occurs after metal is exposed to the air.
